Are places available to buy on race day?

Any remaining places will be available to purchase on the day, cash only and correct money please.

Can I walk some or all of the course?
Walking some of the course is fine but we do ask you do your best to finish within an hour and 20 minutes. We always have a tail runner / walker.

Is the race route sign posted?

The course is well marshalled and signed (including mile markers)

Race Distance

As the events are trail races, the course distance is not accurately measured by wheel. Our aim is to deliver a course as close to a 5mi distance as possible.

Terrain and footwear

Trail shoes are generally recommended, unless we’ve had particularly dry spell.  Keep your eye on our facebook page for any updates following the course check the evening before.

Will there be much traffic on the course?
All of the course is contained inside Colliers Moss. The course is entirely contained on trails within Colliers Moss, there are no roads. The trails are open to members of the public however who may be out walking, cycling, or potentially horse riding. The only vehicles permitted on course will be our own first aid responders and emergency services. However as marshals may need to call instructions to runners, headphones are not permitted under any circumstances because of this.

Can I transfer to another runner, defer or edit my entry?
We do not accept deferrals, however transfers are allowed up to 24 hours beforehand.

You can update your details for FREE before the event by logging into your Nifty account. After that the data will start being processed by the timing company.

How old do I need to be to enter?
All participants must be 15 years old or over on the day of the race.  This age limit is set by England Athletics and is a condition of our race insurance.
When does registration close?
Registration closes once the race is full.
When will I receive my race pack
Race bib numbers are not posted out but are collected from race HQ on the day.
Please leave yourself plenty of time to collect your number.

Can I wear headphones during the race?

Headphones are banned from this race. Runners choosing to ignore this rule will be removed from the results.

UKA RULING:

“RULE 240 S 5 UKA SUPPLEMENT – HEADPHONES The wearing of headphones, or similar devices, (other than those medically prescribed), is not permitted in races on any single carriageway road that is not wholly closed to traffic. This restriction does not apply to races held on dual carriageways provided that there are clear, structured separations between the separate carriageways. Competition Providers of races held entirely on roads closed to traffic may apply this condition where appropriate to local circumstances“.

Bone conducting headphones are the only earphones that are approved for use in all road races under the UK Athletics Rules of Competition.

For reasons of runner safety and in order that you can hear marshals’ instructions as well as those of first aid responders and emergency services, headphones are not permitted at this event.

Do you have a baggage area?
Due to the large open space we do not have a secure baggage area, although the car park is very close by. Please ensure any valuables are either left at home or secured in your vehicle out of sight as we cannot be held responsible for any losses.
Is it easy to park my car near the start/finish area?

We have free parking available near to the start/finish area.

Please follow guidance from the marshals so the we can make the best use of the space available.

What time does the race start?

The race will start at 10:30am.  Please make sure you arrive at the Race Village at Colliers Moss in plenty of time to collect your bib number, enjoy the atmosphere and warm-up. Race breifing will begin at 10:20am.

Will there be pacers leading groups?

No. As its a trail race we don’t uses runners as pacers, however we do have a clearly visible tail runner. Participants are expected to be able to complete the course at a minimum of 16min per mile in approximately 1hr 20 mins.

Will you be using Chip Timing for the race?

Yes, we’ll be using Chip Timing to ensure that all runners receive an accurate personal time in addition to the gun time.

Timing chips are distributed in the race packs, please leave plenty of time to collect your race number on the day. Sensors are triggered at the start and finish line so that an accurate personal time can be given for each participant.

Please be careful with your race number, take care not to bend it and be careful not to pierce the chip when pinning to the front of your running top.

Post Race

Do I receive a medal at the finish line?

No, all finishers will receive a unique momento of the day along with one of our renowned goody bags.

Where can I find photographs after the race?

Race photography is provided by Mick Hall. Images will be available for FREE soon after the event. Please check back for the link that will be posted on our Facebook page.

Also our fantastic volunteer race photographers also often take many of images from different locations around the course on Saturday. They will be also uploading them to our Facebook page asap. You can then download them for FREE!

Where can I find the results?
Results are available immediately after the event on the Results page.
If you have a query regarding the results please email us. This enables to keep all enquiries in one place.
All chiptiming queries will be reviewed and we will aim to get them resolved the following week.
