The Race
The Course
The course is well marshalled and signed (including mile markers)
As the events are trail races, the course distance is not accurately measured by wheel. Our aim is to deliver a course as close to a 5mi distance as possible.
Trail shoes are generally recommended, especially during the winter and autumn events where the British weather can add to the challenge.

Race Day
Headphones are banned from this race. Runners choosing to ignore this rule will be removed from the results.
UKA RULING:
“RULE 240 S 5 UKA SUPPLEMENT – HEADPHONES The wearing of headphones, or similar devices, (other than those medically prescribed), is not permitted in races on any single carriageway road that is not wholly closed to traffic. This restriction does not apply to races held on dual carriageways provided that there are clear, structured separations between the separate carriageways. Competition Providers of races held entirely on roads closed to traffic may apply this condition where appropriate to local circumstances“.
Bone conducting headphones are the only earphones that are approved for use in all road races under the UK Athletics Rules of Competition.
For reasons of runner safety and in order that you can hear marshals’ instructions as well as those of first aid responders and emergency services, headphones are not permitted at this event.
Timing chips are distributed in the race packs. Sensors are triggered at the start and finish line so that an accurate personal time can be given for each participant.
Please be careful with your race number, take care not to bend it and be careful not to pierce the chip when pinning to the front of your running top.
